Anthropic's autumn cadence is complete. Claude Haiku 5.5, the fast tier of the family, arrived today, October 7, five weeks after Fable 5.1 (September 1) kicked off a refresh that has since covered Opus 5.5 (September 22) and Sonnet 5.5 (September 28).

Haiku's role is unchanged: high-volume, latency-sensitive work where the bigger tiers are overkill. What changed is that the fast tier no longer lags a generation behind the flagship, which simplifies tier-routing for teams that split traffic across Haiku, Sonnet and Opus.

The full 5.5-era line, for reference

Fable 5.1 sits above Opus as the Mythos-class flagship at $10/$50, GA from day one. Opus 5.5 lists at $4/$20 with 1M context. Sonnet 5.5 is $2/$10. Haiku 5.5 starts at $0.10/$0.50 per million tokens for prompts up to 100,000 tokens and rises to $0.50/$2.50 above that, per Anthropic's pricing page.

Four tiers refreshed in 37 days is the tightest full-line cycle Anthropic has shipped. The Model Guide's Adopt Now badge on Claude reflects exactly that freshness.

With Haiku landed, Anthropic's next move returns to being a genuine unknown, the next Opus point release exists only as a cycle estimate (Q1 2027) in our guide.
