A November 1 post by Mashiro claims to collect three users' Codex usage charts. TestingCatalog covered the sightings on November 2. We inspected the chart and response-fragment images publicly reproduced by Kingy, not the underlying accounts.

The chart contains gpt-6.2-astra beside gpt-6-astra. Its 19.8% is a figure within one pictured account's usage breakdown, not evidence of a global rollout. A cropped response.completed fragment also contains the label; neither image authenticates the backend model.

Reposts are not independent sightings

Kingy's review traces reused images, including Token Gremlin's acknowledgement of reuse. Direct X requests returned 403 during our check. Mashiro's original post is search-indexed, but its claims and account data remain unverified.

No confirmed new release

Our November 3 check found no GPT-6.2 Astra listing in OpenAI's current model documentation or API changelog. That does not rule out private testing. A new model, routing experiment, public access, launch date, price, specifications and benchmark results remain unconfirmed. The identifier alone does not connect this rumor to an older Astra refresh or Bel/Betelgeuse.

Our 40/100 rumor score is a coarse editorial assessment of sourcing: attributable posts and inspected reproductions, but unauthenticated origins and no official confirmation. It is not a probability of release. The artwork is conceptual, not a leaked screenshot.
